Klippekort (Voucher)

From January 2018 access to free Danish education for international employees, students and other independent adults is organised as a ’Klippekort’ (meaning a series of vouchers = ‘klip’)

You can receive teaching for a periode of max 3 ½ years within a timeframe of 5 years. The 5 years periode is activated when you sign up for Danish lesions or no later than 30 days after you have received the letter of reference from the commune.

You have one klip for each module in your Danish education until the Exam in Danish. Each “klip” gives you access to Danish lessons for a fixed period of time per module. The “klippekort” shows the maximum amount of time you can spend on a module. The table below shows the maximum months on each module:

Klip 1: 4 months

Klip 2: 5 months

Klip 3: 7 months

Klip 4: 8 months

Klip 5: 9 months

Klip 6: 9 months

Nevertheless, you will be called in for a test as soon as you are deemed ready, though you might not have used the maximum amount of time. Your teacher will assess when you are ready. Any surplus time can’t be transferred to later modules. Likewise, if you require more time to complete a module, the next klip is automatically activated, thus you will not have enough klip to finish you Danish education.

If you wish to pause your Danish education without wasting a “klip”, you must inform the school. You can inform the school before enrollment, or after you have passed a module test. .

The klips follows planned teaching hence your education time is running whether you attend classes or not.

Citizenship class

The citizenship class - an integration course offering guidance and qualification pursuant to Danish Integration Act §23a.

The course is designed for non-Western foreigners, including refugees and those who have been reunited with a refugee family member pursuant to Danish Integration Act §2, Sections 2 and 3, who require a special, preparatory and qualification program to establish a connection with the labor market.

Work in the citizenship class is directed toward enabling the course participant to take on a practical experience position at a company. The course is therefore the participant's first step on the path to regular employment and self-sufficiency.

The citizenship class is divided into three stages that lead the course participant from identifying qualifications they have brought with them through guidance and qualification, including acquiring industry-relevant vocabulary, practical skills, understanding of labor market conditions and the educational system, to independent formulation of their own skills (curriculum vitae, CV), searching for practical experience positions and practice interviews related to taking on a practical experience position.

Once the course participant has completed Stage 3, the course participant is then ready for further active participation in the labor market through a practical experience position within a company. Once the practical experience position has been established, the course ends in citizenship class, while the course participant continues Danish language instruction.
