29 years old, but I believe I have timeless beauty
Motto / Life vision
“The best of people are those that bring most benefit to the rest of mankind.” (HR. Ahmad, Thabrani, Daruqutni)
I am an easygoing person, sometimes spontaneous and ’flowing like water’.
Your student experience at Lærdansk Aarhus
The school has a lot of facilities that can be used by students and the teachers are very supportive. Besides this, there are many other ways to engage and practice the Danish language, such as Taldansk café and IT café. I can practice listening and speaking in a very cosy atmosphere.
A funny experience from when you started to learn/use the Danish language
When I started learning Danish, I thought it would be extremely hard to master the language. However, once started, I found many similarities with my mother tongue (Bahasa) in terms of vocabulary. I have to admit pronunciation is the hardest part, but I am positive and have not given up yet, even though when I try to pronounce long words, such as ’førstegangsfødende’, I feel like I twist my tongue up and down.
Your experience as an Ambassador
As an Ambassador, I learnt how to conceptualise an idea / project and how to promote events both online and offline. Moreover, I am constantly dealing with students who are curious about Danish language and I am trying to offer them guidance whenever they need. I also enjoy participating at events, such as International Student Fair, greeting, meeting and offering information to the new international students. Being an Ambassador means to be part of a big family.
Short description of your individual project
My personal project is a combination of an online photo competition and an offline event. The competition is based on taking pictures of what spring in Denmark represents for internationals. With this contest I wanted to encourage international students to share their feelings through images of what spring in a Nordic country looks like. See the details of the competition here. The offline event, called Send a Spring Postcard with Lærdansk, is about sending postcards with to the students’ families, friends, colleagues and relatives to tell the story about how their life in Denmark is during spring. See the details of the event here.
