Aiming for university

I learn Danish because I wish to start at university to become a German teacher. Twice a week I attend the study test (studieprøve) class, which corresponds to highschool level. It’s hard work and the requirements are high, but if you pass, it gives access to university, provided that you have a qualifying exam from your homecountry.

Don’t be afraid to try

But regardless of whether you have a qualifying exam or not, I think it’s important to know the language of the country where you live. Otherwise it’s very difficult to get a job and to communicate with the Danes. It is never too late to learn Danish and no matter what level you’re on, you shouldn’t hesitate to give it a try. I’ve learnt to speak Danish and it has helped me a lot.
