Can I sign up for a test in Danish 3 while I’m still in DU2?
No, according to the law you must finish the test adhering to the course you’ve been taking. But you can sign up for the test as an independent student and pay to take it. Visit your language centre’s homepage to find prices.
How do I sign up for the test?
To sign up for a test, you must come to the reception at your local language centre in person. If you are an independent student you must pay to take the test. Visit your language centre’s homepage to find test dates and prices.
Can I take an older test?
No, but you’ll get the chance to work with the older tests during classes. Are you self-studying you’ll be given an old test at the information meeting.

I have to pay for my own Danish tuition. How much is it?
69 DKK per lesson.
How much must I pay for the three months’ tuition required to take the citizenship test?
The price depends on the number of lessons. Each lesson costs 69 DKK.
Is it true that it’s free to get Danish tuition?
Yes, when you have a residence permit in Denmark, you have the right to Danish tuition for the first three years. You must be 18 years of age, registered with the national registration office and have a CPR-number. How can I learn Danish fast?
By using it. Speak, listen, watch television and listen to radio.
Can I put together classes so they fit into my working hours?
Yes.

How do you assess which module a student is entered into?
We assess your Danish skills at a visitation conversation.
How long time does the full Danish course take?
2-3 years.
How long time does one module take?
From 2-6 months.
Can anyone sign up for Netdansk
No, Netdansk is only for students on DU3 with a solid knowledge of English.
Do you continue to DU3 when you’ve finished DU2?
No, you only take one course.
What are the differences between the three Danish courses?
They require different levels of previous knowledge, which means that your level of education from home plays a part. Your amount of resources and energy also play a part in your ability to learn Danish.
How long will it take to learn Danish and when will I be able to get along in Danish?
The Danish education takes 2-3 years, but you’ll be able to get along reasonably well after a few months’ tuition.
When can I start Danish tuition?
No later than two weeks after we’ve received a referral from your municipality.
Change of class/course
Can you change which Danish course you’re taking?
Not normally, no. Only in agreement with Lærdansk/your municipality and the municipality that offers the course.
Can I change my tuition schedule once I’ve started?
Yes.
Will I change class when I’ve passed a module test?
Ask your local language centre.
About the tuition
In what language does tuition take place?
Danish and ONLY Danish except in special classes.
How much homework is there?
It varies, but count on homework every day.
When do new classes start?
New classes start all the time. You can start two weeks after we’ve received a referral from your municipality.
How big are the classes?
10-20 students.
Will I have to buy my own books/materials?
You can borrow books and dictionaries, but you’ll need to buy your own materials (paper, pencils, notebooks).
Is attendance compulsory?
Yes. Your attendance is registered and will be passed on to the municipality.
How many hours of tuition a week?
When you sign up for a course, you must choose between day- and evening classes. On day courses you’ll receive 15-18 hours of tuition, in evening classes 4-8 hours. Contact your local language centre for further information.
At what times do the classes take place?
Ask your local language centre.
How do I tell the municipality about my vacation?
You fill in a vacation notice at the school, which will then be passed on to the municipality.

You can use your education to apply for jobs or apply for further education. Speak to a student advisor about your opportunities.
Can I take another Danish course when I’ve finished one?
